After 4 years of extensive planning, Sylvan Eye Associates was formed in 2000, when 6 eye doctors (3 ophthalmologists and 3 optometrists), merged their private practices together and moved into a brand new facility located on Sylvan Avenue in North Modesto.

Our new office is the largest and most modern eyecare facility in Stanislaus County and is designed to provide our patients with total eye care.

Our current professional staff consists of one retinal specialist, 2 general ophthalmologists, 4 optometrists and a supporting staff of 50. Our office has the latest diagnostic equipment including digital retinal photography, corneal mapping, optic nerve imaging and computerized medical records.

Our surgeons perform eyelid and cosmetic surgery, refractive (Lasik) surgery, cataract, eye muscle surgery and laser treatment for patients with diabetes or macular degeneration.

In addition to routine vision and eye health examinations, our optometrists fit contact lenses, provide Lasik pre- and post operative care, as well as low vision services. We specialize in all types of contact lenses, including lenses to change your eye color, difficult-to-fit conditions, bifocals and extended wear lenses.

Our optical department carries about 2000 frames including Calvin Klein, Fendi, Maui Jim, Oakley, Cazal, Sean Jean, Bannana Republic, Giorgio Armani and more. Our optical staff of eleven have over 180 combined years of experience to provide you with superior knowledge and service in the selection, design, fabrication and fitting of your new glasses. Outside prescriptions are welcome.

We participate with VSP, Medicare, Medicaid and most insurace carriers. We accept cash, personal checks, ATM, American Express, Mastercard, VISA, and Discover.
